Happy and Greed
Spoken between Yaksha and Yudhisthira
Who is happy?
That man who is happy who,
Not in debt and not in a foreign land
In his own home, in the fifth or sixth part of the day
Cooks a frugal, satisfying meal, and eats it
What is wonderful?
Everyday creature die,
Yet everyone thinks he will live for ever
What is more wonderful than this?
If we consider developed as the materialistic affluance, than surely a time comes when the focus of progress shifts from accumulating to sustainable co existance.
Happyness becomes an inner issue defined with less consumtion, less travel, less self. Greed stops becoming the driving force for indevisual and nation. We learn to live with death rather than immortality.
