Towards Germany
Airport at Mumbai and Frankfurt are all the same, universal signage driven, efficient transactional spaces.
Could sleep on the flight. Frankfurt is 6.5 hr difference. ICE train was 10 min late which means we missed the train at the station K , and took the other train which was 40 min latter. It was cold at the station K.
The country side through the window, looked scenic. Felt a sense of rundown of a great infrastructure, a faint shadow of loss in peoples face, a fear of not committing to the future.
Danella and Alex cam to pick us up. Nice warm couple in a rather cold evening.
Eden hotel is pink, shocking in the surrounding of classy spa frequented by the old people. A nice large dog always slept next to reception.
Had lunch of Pumpkin soup and a food large enough for a family of four or more
At the evening D & A took us to a local Christmas fair, where Santa was distributing bread man, carrels were played by the local band, lots of people mostly old or middle age, shops by local artists / crafts man / singer ( a couple was playing the African flute beautifully which touched) Some children, some dogs in chain, some baby in pram, some youth in there smiles formed the minority.
Drank Glow Wine, which is hot,sweet , purple and potent. This is the drink for me. Alax had a sausage. Old church, leafless tall trees, a small flowing river, cobble stone paths, some fake traditional signs, lots of medicine shop
But bad luck, lost all the nice picture I took :-(
